Vulnerable Community Members Are Counting On You
I know this is such an unnerving time for everyone. And I hope you, your family and neighbors are able to take care and support each other during this time of such uncertainty. All of us at West Marin Senior Services are working diligently to communicate with all our rural, older adults throughout West Marin, making sure they have what they need, including receiving WMSS Home Delivered Meals (up to 7 meals a week) – in fact this program more than doubled in requests and at this time we are blessed with enough volunteers to fulfill this need. We have a huge geographical area to cover – over 325 square miles from Muir Beach to Dillon Beach and all of West Marin in between.
However, we have the most vulnerable community members counting on us for their lives; our residents at Stockstill House. WMSS has taken every precaution to ensure their safety and well-being. Over the next 3 months we need to raise a contingency fund of $20,000. Several of our Board Members are donating a combined gift of $10,000 towards that effort and we hope that if you are able, you will join them in helping us raise our goal.
No one could have anticipated this level of need, not only have we had to suspend our normal fundraising during this time, we just received notification from some of our long term, supporting funders that they are also pausing funding and pending our requests at this time. So please, if you are able, give generously.
You can make a gift directly on our secured website here or you can send a check to WMSS, PO Box 791, Pt. Reyes Station, CA 94956.
