In honor of Ann Patterson’s show at the WMSS Gallery of Art, “Kaleidoscope”, we thought we would bring the show to you. Ann has been spending her “sheltering in place” time quilting, gardening and cooking. For many of us, the last two are ways to connect with ourselves and nature. But for Ann, sewing has been her most fulfilling pastime. When Ann sits in her studio to sew, she watches the apple tree outside the window, “slowly changing each day, with life.” Like her apple tree transforming, Ann has been challenging herself to create new designs with color morphing from dark to light. Working with the idea of evolving, like her apple tree she believes “we all must change, adapt to our new situation of being home, trying to accept it and move with it slowly.”
